Dating is like buying a used car.....

Dating is like buying a used car....why do I say this you are wondering. Well I’m here to inform you! Everyone puts on an act when they first start dating someone. The best version of themselves or maybe they are just down right lying about who they are to snag you.

I looked at my ex-boyfriends profile that I dated about a year ago. I did it out of curiosity and found that he has a new profile picture up of him and his new girlfriend. They had their arms wrapped around each other. The girl has a huge grin on her face. Ladies you know what grin I’m talking about the one that only comes when you feel like deep inside you are done looking and have found the one.

I felt alot of things looking at the picture but mostly bad for her because she has no clue who he really is. She probably isn’t aware that he is a raging alcoholic and that he downs a bottle of vodka on a daily basis. She probably does not know that he got fired from his last job because of drug abuse. She probably doesn’t know he has an AA book hidden at the top of his closet in a shoe box along with lots of cocaine and other drugs. She probably doesn’t know that he is a bully and tries to find a fight. She probably doesn’t know that he beat his own father up for shits and giggles. She probably has no idea that within a couple of months he will show his true colors and all her hopes and dreams will be crushed. Poor girl. Too bad I can’t warn her but she will just have to see for herself. She looks like a really nice girl.

I was this girl my ex came across as fun, successful and 100% dedicated to the relationship but of course a few months into it after driving around this piece of shit used car so to speak the transmission went out and the engine would not start. Really sucks because I invested alot into that Ford Fiesta....lol.

Now I am in the market for a Benz. To be more specific one with low miles and a warranty that doesn’t break down after I drive it a few months!

Ladies and Gentlemen look for the red flags in the beginning. If your gut tells you something is not quite right don’t ignore that feeling. I would hate to see any of you end up with a hooptie!
